Construction has been completed on a 179-room Springhill Suites by Marriott in eastern Chula Vista, CA. The new 127.6k sf, all-suite hotel is located at 870 District Pl, in the city’s Eastlake area. The project was built for Marriott by R.D. Olson Construction.
The hotel sits 13 miles from the San Diego Bay and just three miles from recreation options at Otay Lake and the Otay Open Space Preserve. The project took the firm 18.5 months to complete.
In keeping with the comfort and quality of the Marriott brand, Chula Vista’s five-story Springhill Suites hotel includes high design and amenities to match, including 1.9k sf of meeting and conference space that can be reconfigured according to individual needs, spacious pool, and a 1.1k sf fitness center. The vibrant lobby offers complimentary computers and printers at the business center with flexible workspace and free Wi-Fi for travelers, as well as a media and TV lounge with a beautiful fireplace for light conversation or reading.
Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast from the large buffet in the hotel’s 930 sf dining space. Additionally, for private socializing or meetings there is a separate 490 sf dining room. A full-service bar and lounge offer approximately 1.8k sf of interior seating and nearly 1.5k sf of covered patio seating. To accommodate guests 24/7, there is an in-house market for snacks and necessities.
Outdoors, the hotel offers a modern “zero entry” pool with lounge seating and a large jacuzzi spa for relaxing. The courtyard offers two BBQ grills and an event lawn with three fire tables for lounging in the evening. Several 700 sf suites bordering the courtyard pool have private patios and host ground floor pool access.
In keeping with demand, the parking lot has 10 EV charging stations. R.D. Olson Construction’s partners on Springhill Suites by Marriott include Lee & Sakahara Architects and Design Studio Interior Designer.
