Academy Buys University Property in San Diego

5/21/21

Classical Academy purchased a 51.8k sf office property in the San Diego area for $10.1 mil ($195/sf) to be used as a new school location. It was sold by National University.

The three-story property sits on 7.8 acres at 2022 University Dr, just east of Hwy 78 in Vista. It is adjacent to the 78 Fwy, North San Diego County’s connecting corridor, and in proximity to a large number of grocery stores, eating and drinking establishments, banks, hotels and fitness centers.

Matt Pourcho, Matt Harris, Anthony DeLorenzo, and Gary Stache with CBRE’s Investment Properties Group, along with CBRE’s Caitlin Little, represented the seller in the transaction. The buyer was repped by Jon Walters and Jim Bensen from Kidder Matthews.

Employment in Vista has increased by more than 12.4% since May 2020, surpassing the state and county. More than 31% of Vista’s population is between the ages of 18 and 34 years, making it one of the most concentrated areas in North San Diego County.
