Cisterra Development has completed the development of a two-building, Class A corporate headquarters at Cubic Corporation’s campus in San Diego. The project is centrally located at 9233 Balboa Ave, within the city’s Kearny Mesa area.
The LEED Silver-certified buildings include energy efficient lighting, solar panels across the 687-space parking facility and electric vehicle charging stations. The campus also includes numerous meeting and outdoor gathering places, a full-service café, state-of-the-art fitness center and a basketball court.
Cubic Corporation considered several options for the development of a new headquarters, including options outside of San Diego. Ultimately, Cubic Corporation chose to consolidate two separate office campuses into a new, single campus with Cisterra Development as the company’s development partner. Cisterra Development delivered two new three-story, buildings that total 250k sf with the entire campus now able to accommodate 1,500 employees.
Including this project, Cisterra Development's team has created more than 15 msf of best-in-class projects ranging from high-rise urban mixed-use projects to biotechnology and research facilities to intermodal rail-served industrial, to traditional multifamily. The project team for the total $100 mil build-to-suit headquarters for Cubic Corporation also included Whiting-Turner as the General Contractor and Ware Malcomb as the Architect.
