The Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at the University of San Diego School of Business is holding its largest conference of the year—the 25th Annual Real Estate Conference Virtual Edition on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 8 to 11 a.m. PST. The conference will feature three game-changing megaprojects that will transform San Diego: Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan, featuring Amara Bay; Riverwalk San Diego; and NAVWAR.
The event will lead off with opening remarks by Mayor Todd Gloria. Featured speakers will include: Ryley Webb, land development manager at Pacifica Companies; Eric Hepfer, managing director at Hines; Captain Kenneth R. Franklin, commanding officer at Naval Base Point Loma; Gregory P. Geisen, NAVWAR revitalization project manager at Naval Information Warfare Systems Command; Hasan Ikhrata, executive director at SANDAG; and Victoria Stackwick, director of government relations at SANDAG.
Featured Projects
Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan, featuring Amara Bay—An overview of Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan, with specific emphasis on Amara Bay, a 35-acre luxury development by Pacifica Companies. Amara Bay will consist of 1,500 residential condominiums, 420k sf of retail and office space, and a 250-room hotel and will incorporate wide public plazas and promenades with substantial bay view corridors.
Riverwalk San Diego—The Hines' Riverwalk San Diego project will transform the existing Riverwalk golf course in western Mission Valley into a 200-acre, live-work-play transit-oriented neighborhood. Nearly 100 acres of the village will be dedicated to open space and a regional park. Hines will also restore the stretch of the San Diego River that runs through Riverwalk.
NAVWAR—SANDAG is collaborating with the Navy to explore options for redeveloping the 70.5-acre Naval Base Point Loma Old Town Campus. Concurrently, SANDAG is developing concepts for the Central Mobility Hub, a multi modal transportation center that could provide a direct transit connection to San Diego International Airport.
Due to COVID-19, this 2021 event will be held virtually and the registration fee will be complimentary. A $50 suggested donation to support the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate’s student-centric mission is greatly appreciated. There will be opportunities to network (virtually) with attendees at this event.
