Thomas Jefferson School of Law inked a new lease to reposition but retain its campus within the heart of downtown San Diego. The Law School leased a total of 56.3k sf spanning two full floors at 701 B St, west of I-5 and just north of Broadway.
The 24-story Class A high-rise contains 571.3k sf of premium office space. The relocation is part of Thomas Jefferson’s “Move Forward” plan, which demonstrates the Law School's commitment to providing high-quality education to its students based on three core concepts: Rightsizing, Reallocating, and Repositioning.
In what will be a proximate move and downsize, the Law School’s new campus will be about one-third of the square footage of its existing campus that currently resides in an eight-story building in downtown San Diego’s East Village approximately five minutes away. The Law School will be provided its very own entrance and private elevator to service its new premises at 701 B Street.
Tom van Betten and Casey Sterck with Cushman & Wakefield’s local San Diego office represented Thomas Jefferson in the new long-term lease. 701 B Street is owned by EMMES, which was represented by Derek Hulse and Philip Roberts also of Cushman & Wakefield. Other tems of the transaction were not disclosed.
