Halozyme Therapeutics has signed two leases for a total of 58k sf in two buildings in Sorrento Valley at 11404 and 11408 Sorrento Valley Road and 11388 Sorrento Valley Road. At 11404-11408 Sorrento Valley Rd, the firm took 27,575 sf of space commencing January 15, 2013, and at 11388 Sorrento Valley Road the company leased 30,371 sf of space which commenced June 1, 2010. The leases represent nearly $8.6 million in transaction value.
Chad Urie, Executive Vice President, and Grant Schoneman, Associate, of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the landlord, BMR-Sorrento Plaza, LLC. David Odmark of Cassidy Turley BRE Commercial represented Halozyme Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company developing and commercializing products targeting the extracellular matrix for the endocrinology, oncology, dermatology and drug delivery markets.
The BMR-Sorrento Plaza project is the last ground up facility built in the Sorrento Valley areas. Sorrento Valley is widely known as a hotbed of San Diego Life Science tenants. BMR-Sorrento Plaza brochure tells us the property offers some of San Diego’s most state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for life science companies.
