On the heels of opening their latest coworking location in San Juan Capistrano, the founders of TailoredSpace have announced plans to nearly double their portfolio in 2024, opening up to eight new coworking spaces in California as the demand for alternative work space increases. The founders have targeted Laguna Niguel and Santa Clarita as the next TailoredSpace locations for 2024.
The new San Juan Capistrano site at 27131 Calle Arroyo is 14k sf, typical for a TailoredSpace coworking space. The sites provide a flexible coworking solution in a suburban market targeting the increased number of professionals working from home or juggling hybrid work schedules.
“Coworking much like hybrid work is here to stay. While people want the flexibility of working from home, that isn’t always the easiest solution when home includes other distractions. Our suburban coworking sites are a great solution to providing flexibility and convenience. We’re looking at suburban locations throughout the state so that we can provide space that is still close to our members’ homes and they can better balance their work and home life,” said TailoredSpace Co-Founder Drew Sanden.
In 2023, TailoredSpace and its sister-brand, SimplerSpace added a total of three new campuses in the cities of Carlsbad, Placentia, and San Juan Capistrano, bringing the total portfolio to 10 locations.
TailoredSpace campuses provide critical office space for more than 600 members across Southern California. In 2023 the TailoredSpace brand grew by more than 58%, which further shows how much people need a convenient office solution, and underscoring demand for the coworking sector.
Founded in April 2019, TailoredSpace offers flexible coworking and communal spaces for fixed-price monthly memberships. About 80% of its members live within a five-mile radius of a TailoredSpace location. Each location is in an area with a high per capita income, convenient freeway access, and shopping and dining options within easy walking distance.
TailoredSpace works with landlords through service contracts rather than a traditional lease. While the company takes on the full-staff operation, the landlords handle the upfront costs of tenant improvements and accessories such as furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
TailoredSpace coworking locations are found in Brea, Carlsbad, Chino Hills, Corona, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, San Juan Capistrano, and West Covina. Its sister brand SimplerSpace operates sites in Carlsbad and Placentia. The SimplerSpace model targets landlords who need to fill vacant space. The spaces are a no-frills option for occupants looking for flexibility and affordability.
