The leasing assignment for Symphony Towers in the historic Financial District of Downtown San Diego has been awarded to Colliers. Chris High, Steve Bruce and Conor Evans with Colliers will lead the marketing efforts for the property. The 34-story, 546k sf high-rise is located at 750 B St.
Symphony Towers was recently acquired by its new owner, Joe C. Wen, CEO & Founder of Orange County-based Formosa Ltd, with Lincoln Property Company as the operator. Following multiple investments across Southern California over the last year, Wen purchased the building from Irvine Company in September, marking his first acquisition in the San Diego market.
Built and in operation since 1989, Symphony Towers stands at nearly 500 feet as the second tallest high-rise in San Diego’s skyline, housing the City’s luxury business and social destination, University Club, on its 34th floor. The office building occupies nearly half of the mixed-use complex, totaling 1.2 msf, which is also home to a 27-story, 264-room Marriott Suites Hotel and the iconic San Diego Symphony, which recently celebrated its grand reopening of the Jacobs Music Center, following a $125 mil-plus renovation. Another recent addition—the highly anticipated opening of Knead Artisan Bakery—occurred in late September following a $750k outfitting of its ground floor space. The bakery replaced a former bistro that never reopened following the pandemic. A five-story parking garage structure and a concourse above the performance center connect the entire complex.
With return-to-office on the rise, the property has a variety of ready-to-occupy suites available and is well-positioned to meet the needs of a dynamic mix of tenants looking for top-tier amenities amidst Downtown’s vibrant atmosphere. Symphony Towers’ rich history, open-air design, and desirable walkability will prove advantageous for today’s tenant expectations.
