A 67.1k sf, three-story office building in Sorrento Mesa sold for $12.05 mil ($180/sf). The property is located at 6060 Cornerstone Court W, in the prime life science submarket within Sorrento Mesa.
The buyer, San Diego-based Sorrento Biotech Center LLC, has a successful lab conversion track record and plans to convert the building to life science uses to meet the growing, local life science and lab tenant requirements.
Chris Duncan, SIOR, with Voit Real Estate Services repped the buyer in the deal. The seller, a prominent, national corporate owner, was represented by Matt Carlson and Hunter Rowe of CBRE.
“This purchase represents a great opportunity to pick up a core real estate asset in the top life science market in San Diego at significantly below replacement cost,” according to Duncan, who represented the private investor group.
