Captura Corp recently leased an 8.4k sf R&D/flex building in Pasadena. Located at 60 N. San Gabriel Blvd, the state-of-the-art R&D/Flex facility features multi-million-dollar lab upgrades.
The property offers a full block of frontage on a main Pasadena thoroughfare at a signalized intersection, providing excellent visibility and access. It also includes executive offices with a lab buildout, and multiple hoods and is conveniently situated just two blocks from the 210 Foothill Fwy.
The property’s former occupant, Materia, is a Nobel Prize recipient from 2005, in collaboration with Caltech Professor Robert Grubbs, for renewable energy advancements.
Captura, founded in 2021, emerged from a technology developed in Caltech’s laboratories. The company provides a low-cost ocean carbon removal solution with minimal environmental impact. This location will house a team of engineers and researchers from Captura, a direct ocean capture company.
John S. Archibald and Guillermo Olaiz with NAI Capital Commercial represented the landlord, San Gabriel Capital LP. The tenant was repped by Shadd Walker of Colliers International in the transaction.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Archibald, the remaining 19.3k sf of space at the project consist of built-out lab space and high-end corporate headquarters office space, which should be leased out very shortly given the abundance of interested parties.
