VOX at Cumulus, a 14-acre mixed-use community in the heart of Los Angeles on the site of the former Cumulus radio station towers, has officially opened to the public. The work-live-play development known as the Cumulus District, is located within walking distance of Culver City and L.A.’s West Adams area. It was developed by Carmel Partners and designed by TCA Architects.
Vox boasts 100k sf of retail space, including an onsite Whole Foods Market. The project, located at 3333 La Cienega Blvd, has been certified as a Green Point Rated Platinum project by Build it Green, the highest sustainable rating possible.
Spanning 910 residences, VOX features both apartments and townhomes with more than one dozen floorplans, including studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom options between 504 sf to 1.5k sf.
“VOX at Cumulus is one of the largest mixed-use communities to open in the Los Angeles area,” said Eric Olsen, AIA, Principal & Partner at TCA Architects. “Not only does it provide much-needed housing options for the community, but the Cumulus District will be one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods due to its immediate proximity to the La Cienega/Jefferson Metro station, which gives residents access to downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica without the need for a car.”
Bright, well-spaced layouts, quality finishes and ultra-convenient features are offered in the units at VOX. These include keyless entry locks and floor-to-ceiling windows with roll-down shades, offering wide-ranging views of Los Angeles. Luxury vinyl plank flooring and recessed lighting throughout add a clean, modern feel.
Residents can expect open-concept kitchens with soft-close Italian-style modern cabinetry, quartz countertops and Frigidaire and Samsung appliances. In-unit laundry, via a set of stacked Electrolux washers and dryers, is also standard. Bedrooms feature sizable wardrobes, and bathrooms present porcelain tile flooring and oversized soaking tubs. Plus, select residences will offer dramatic, ten-and-a-half-foot ceilings and expansive windows for additional volume and light.
Rich with high-end amenities, VOX epitomizes the Los Angeles lifestyle. Two resort-style swimming pools, clubhouses and a bocce court offer year-round outdoor enjoyment. A plush co-working lounge complete with private meeting spaces, is the ideal office-from-home environment, and a recording studio and luxury screening room offer additional areas for work and entertainment. Residents can break a sweat at VOX’s onsite fitness center, and wind down after a long day in its tranquil yoga room.
Through stringent planning and construction, VOX at Cumulus is focused on sustainability. The development features 1,736 solar panels along with storm water infiltration systems and a park, designed to help reduce heat island effect. Plus, VOX is ideally situated near the La Cienega/Jefferson Metro station and 20% of the VOX parking spaces are available for electric car charging.
VOX has also been given the Green Point Rated Platinum, a third-party verification on above-code, high-performance single and multi-family homes in California and beyond. This includes a checklist of best building practices in various categories such as energy efficiency, air quality, water conservation, and resource conservation.
Other core partners involved in the construction of VOX include DCI (structural), AMPAM (plumbing), PSOMAS (civil), DFDA (mechanical), Seal Electric (electrical) and MLA (landscape).
