Sony Pictures Entertainment Leases 225k sf of Space in L.A.’s Miracle Mile District

2/06/23

Sony Pictures Entertainment recently inked a long-term, multi-floor lease for 225.2k sf of space at Wilshire Courtyard, a two-building, Class A office campus situated in the heart of L.A.’s Miracle Mile area. The popular, central city area is home to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Page Museum, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Sony Pictures Entertainment leased a significant portion of the six-story building located at 5750 Wilshire Blvd in the campus. The company is relocating select divisions from nearby Culver City.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Josh Bernstein, Peter Collins, Scott Menkus and Alexa Delahooke represented Onni Group in the transaction. Onni’s Neal Linthicum managed the transaction on Onni’s behalf. Savills’ Josh Gorin and Mike Catalano represented Sony. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wilshire Courtyard comprises two trophy six-story Class A office buildings located at 5700 and 5750 Wilshire Blvd, totaling approximately 1 msf of space. The buildings were originally developed in the late 1980s but underwent significant interior and exterior renovations in 2015. The campus is certified LEED® EB: O&M – Gold and is a five-time winner of BOMA’s The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Award.

Wilshire Courtyard also features numerous on-site amenities, including its 125-tiered outdoor balconies for indoor/outdoor work, an Equinox Fitness on site, newly renovated common areas and plazas, and a park with jogging trail. The project is also adding a brand-new state-of-the art amenity center featuring a golf simulator, multi-screen entertainment center, tenant lounge and conference facility. Additionally, Onni is partnering with VTS and their Rise product to provide convenient mobile access, book onsite amenities and act as a concierge to tenants and their employees.

The project currently offers available space ranging from small move in ready spec suites to mid-range second-generation space to large blocks of contiguous space, flexibly accommodating an array of size requirements. Through its wellness-enhancing amenities, Wilshire Courtyard focuses on better health and wellness to promote better employee engagement and productivity.

Wilshire Courtyard is home to several major leading brands within the media, entertainment as well as tech industries—its famed occupier history has also featured many other influential companies in the entertainment industry. The property’s proximate location to several production studios serves as a key advantage for companies in these industries.
