Klorman Construction has been chosen by McCormick Builders to design a 525-vehicle parking structure for the 800 South Flower St. office building in Burbank.
Woodland Hills-based Klorman will oversee and manage the construction of the four-level structure at 800 S. Flower St. in Burbank, which will supplement the parking for the existing office building. The expansion includes 20 exterior spaces at ground level.
“This is a premier property in the heart of Burbank, and it’s important that the expansion and accompanying office space reflect the character of the neighborhood and district,” said Bill Klorman, president of Klorman Construction. “Our ability to incorporate green space into the structure is in keeping with our long history as parking structure design/build contractors.”
The development is being undertaken on behalf of the Cusumano Real Estate Group of Burbank. DCA, of Los Angeles, is the architect.
Klorman, in consultation with the general contractor and owner, is incorporating a green screen system with live plant material, which is designed to provide a soft contrast to the urban setting on the exterior of the most visible elevations of the structure. The structure will also feature streamlined stair assemblies and decorative architectural lighting. The adjacent plaza area with custom concrete surfaces joins the structure architecturally with the adjacent office facility.
