Bitney Springs Center, a 315-acre site located near the communities of Grass Valley and Nevada City in the Sierra Nevada foothills outside of Sacramento, has been put on the market. The property is the former site of the Grass Valley Group’s corporate campus, once one of the largest employers in Nevada County.
The site consists of 13 buildings containing approximately 186k sf, and is being marketed as an ideal location for manufacturing uses, educational services, as well as non-profit and governmental use. The buildings and existing utilities offer affordable conversion to other functions. The Nevada School of the Arts currently occupies several buildings.
The site offers excellent street access near medical services and retail amenities. The region’s main draw is the beauty of the setting, quality of life appeal and recreational options. From what we understand, the asking price is around $5.6 mil.
“In its heyday the Bitney Springs Center was a bustling corporate campus occupied by hundreds of employees of the legendary Grass Valley Group,” said Peter Nixon, Senior Vice President of CBRE. “Very few sites have the potential carrying capacity, in terms of people, utilities, and services, that already exist at this location.”
Nixon, along with CBRE colleagues Chip Sutherland, Todd Sanfilippo and Kris Riley, have the marketing assignment for the property. An asking price was not given out.
