Dow Credit Union has purchased a 5.7k sf retail property in Antioch for use as Dow CU’s new headquarters as well as a store location. The property, located at 3457 Deer Valley Rd, just south of Hwy 4 in Contra Costa County, sold for $1.81 mil ($318/sf).
The grand opening of the credit union’s new location is anticipated to happen once pandemic restrictions are lifted. In addition to the space Dow CU is utilizing, the property also includes a 1.3k sf space occupied by Great Clips, providing additional cash flow for the ownership.
The asset is located in a busy retail corridor and is an outparcel to a retail center that includes Rite Aid, Safeway, Dollar Tree, and Starbucks, among other tenants. The center is surrounded by Hillcrest Avenue, Deer Valley Road and Wildflower Drive which see a combined traffic count of approximately 52,000 vehicles per day.
Hayden Eaves and Kristen Sullivan with Avison Young represented Dow CU in the deal. The property was won via a trust deed sale auction.
“Dow CU was leasing at its former location which had an inefficient layout and wasn’t convenient for its customers,” said Sullivan. “This new site is highly visible and was previously a Chase Bank, making the transition easy and efficient.”
