In a transaction we’re told represents the largest office lease by square footage in Los Angeles County year-to-date, North Los Angeles County Regional Center (“NLACRC”) agreed to renewal/expansion deal for 166.9k sf of space in Chatsworth.
The organization’s HQ space is located at 9200 Oakdale Ave, east of Winnetka Ave and north of Nordhoff St in the western San Fernando Valley. NLACRC, a nonprofit that partners with community-based organizations to better serve individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, previously occupied 112.1k sf at the property as its headquarters.
Newmark Executive Vice President Steve Kolsky, Executive Managing Director Suzanne Lee and Managing Director Ron Burkhardt represented the tenant NLACRC in the lease transaction. Newmark Workplace Strategy Managing Director Katie Ruf, Project Manager Sabrina Rahman, Debt & Structured Finance Executive Vice Chairman Bill Fishel and Associate Director Mai Hu also supported the transaction. The landlord, Omninet, was represented by Jim Lindvall and Chloe Sanchez of JLL.
California's regional center system, established under the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act in 1969 (with expansions in subsequent years), comprises 21 community-based nonprofit organizations statewide that coordinate lifelong services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. NLACRC is the largest of these centers, serving the highest number of consumers among them.
