Amar and Rajvi Alapati purchased the Tallman Hotel and Blue Wing Saloon, a 17-room boutique hotel and restaurant in NoCal’s Lake County. The property, located at 9550 Main St in Upper Lake, at the north end of Clear Lake and about 130 miles north of San Francisco, will be added to the Alapatis’ Serenite Hotels Collection.
The Tallman Hotel has 17 rooms across nine buildings, with the Blue Wing Saloon next door at 9520 Main St. The hotel, originally built in 1896, was purchased and renovated between 2002-05 by Bernie and Lynne Butcher. It reopened in 2006 with modern amenities while retaining its historic charm. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, gardens and a meeting room. Select rooms also include outdoor showers and Japanese Ofuro soaking tubs.
The property is five miles from Clear Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in California, with access to over 40 wineries in Lake County. The area is known for its volcanic soils, sustainable farming practices and ideal climate for cultivating wine grapes. Lake County also has over 900,000 acres of trails for hiking and mountain biking, as well as access to several state and local parks.
The Serenite Collection features hotels and restaurants dedicated to honoring the rich, vibrant history of California. All the Serenite Collection properties are rooted in the heritage of the Golden State and are carefully curated, boutique spaces nestled in historically significant California towns.
The Tallman Hotel and Blue Wing Saloon embody the historical charm and boutique elegance that define the Serenite Collection. When the Tallman Hotel opened in the late 1890’s, visitors frequented the property to experience the nearby hot springs. Today, this boutique property is a fixture in the historic town and situated alongside century-old storefronts.
CBRE’s Alex Lee-Bull and Lauren Liebes represented the seller, Curtis Holdings, in the deal. A price was not given out.
