Peckham Inc Leases 136k sf Office Building in Phoenix

12/13/23

Peckham Inc, a non-profit community vocational rehabilitation organization, has inked a lease for all of One Compass Center, a four-story, 136.2k sf Class A office building in Phoenix in a deal we’re told is the largest office lease in metro Phoenix for 2023. The new center will fully occupy the building, located at 3150 S. 48th St, immediately west of State Route 143 and minutes to the north of Interstate 10 in the Sky Harbor Airport submarket.

Following Peckham’s mission, the new inbound, federal contact center will offer up to 1,000 jobs for persons with various physical, mental, emotional and learning disabilities.

“Peckham has been in operation for nearly 50 years, with a presence in Phoenix for more than a decade,” said Nate Vander Laan, Vice President of Facilities, Peckham Inc. “The Valley offers a rich employment pool, with many individuals with disabilities who may be looking to enter or get back into the workforce, or who have faced challenges maintaining employment because of their barriers. Peckham is intentional about building inclusive workspaces that integrate universal design principles and incorporate assistive technology to promote a path to greater independence and self-sufficiency.”

Peckham was represented in its lease negotiations by Kyle Seeger, Ryan Bartos and Jami Savage-Gray with JLL. Pat Boyle of Cushman and Wakefield repped the landlord, Menlo Equities.

“This is a centrally located, plug-and-play space where Peckham can immediately occupy and begin operations, and where employees can easily access their workplace from many points of the Valley,” said Seeger.

Based in Michigan, Peckham operates manufacturing and apparel, third-party logistics, custodial and contact center solutions across the U.S. It currently operates an inbound contact center within the I-17 corridor. It will relocate and expand that operation into the new 48th Street location, supporting the same federal contract.
