Bacchus Management Group has signed a lease to transform the restored 1940s-era Burlingame Post Office into an iconic restaurant space at the base of the six-story 220 Park development. The project, a development of Dostart Development Company (DDC) and Sares Regis Group of Northern California, is nearing completion in downtown Burlingame.
Bacchus operates renowned and award-winning restaurants throughout the Bay Area, including Michelin-starred restaurants Spruce in San Francisco, The Village Pub in Woodside and Selby’s in Atherton. The still-unnamed restaurant concept will occupy approximately 8k sf, plus an expansive outdoor dining terrace overlooking the new Burlingame Town Square. The restaurant anticipates opening together with the Town Square by the end of 2024. 220 Park was represented in the deal by Chris Homs, Kurt Grundman, and Brendan Walsh from Lockehouse Retail Group, Inc.
Designed by KSH Architects, 220 Park features 185k sf of Class A office and retail space, ready for occupancy in spring 2024. Delivering an elevated workplace experience, the landmark project boasts impeccable design and expansive terraces with unrivaled views, seamlessly integrating vibrant retail, quality open space, and transit access in the heart of the Peninsula’s premier downtown.
Beyond the workplace transformation, the 220 Park project has also made a significant contribution to the development of Burlingame’s Town Square, the "signature open space" envisioned in the Downtown Specific Plan. This vibrant public space is being realized with 220 Park’s support and additional funding from the State of California. With construction planned to start in the spring, the Town Square will serve as a dynamic hub for outdoor dining, socializing, and cultural events. The restored and repurposed Post Office, filled with a vibrant restaurant, will anchor this exciting new public open space.
“The City’s partnership with Dostart Development and Sares Regis to create a signature Town Square and office building in the heart of one of the best downtowns on the peninsula has now been capped by the introduction of the Bacchus Management Group to the Old Post office,” said Michael Brownrigg, mayor of Burlingame. “Nothing complements a great open space better than a great restaurant. Together, we are building out a “destination downtown," which is very exciting!”
