Work has been completed on Crafton Center, a new two-story, 46.5k sf student services facility at the San Bernardino Community College District’s Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa. The project was built by LA-based Bernards on behalf of the college.
Located on the former library site, the $21.8 mil Crafton Center, which is a Type II structure, represents a revival of sorts for Crafton Hills College, as it along with two new other buildings on the campus have opened this year. Crafton Center houses all campus student services, including campus administration, food services, and a bookstore.
This project, designed by HMC Architects, is targeting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification. HMC and Bernards have worked together on a number of LEED certified structures, including the LEED Gold certified Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Pierce College Library/Learning Cross Roads, the $65.2 mil student union facility at the LACCD’s Harbor College that is targeting LEED Gold certification, and the LEED Silver residence hall at Harvey Mudd College that just completed earlier this year.
