Major Mixed-User Proposed for San Jose

3/03/16

Shorenstein Properties and Prometheus Real Estate Group have partnered in a proposed development for San Jose’s west side that could ultimately add 360k sf of office space along with over 800 res units, 15k sf of retail space and a park to the area.

The project would be located on 17 acres at Saratoga Ave and Stevens Creek Blvd. The location is familiar to residents as the site of Harry’s Hofbrau and Garden City Casino, among other businesses.

At present, the site consists of eight parcels with nine different owners. It is home to a mix of older, single-story structures and considerable surface parking.

The developers are hoping to gain city approval in the first half of 2017, although it still needs an environmental impact report. If all goes forward without any major hitches, the project could get started in the second half of 2017, with completion of the first phase improvements about a year and a half later.
