MET/EQ Investment Platform to Acquire up to $500 Mil in Assets over 18 Months

Metropolitan Equities (MET/EQ), a private equity investment company focused on commercial real estate ownership and operations, has just launched as an investment platform ready to acquire up to $500 mil in assets during the next 18 months. The platform will focus on pursuing investment opportunities in the single tenant/net lease arena and multi-tenant office, industrial, retail, hotel and select multifamily properties, emphasizing asset fundamentals and local-market characteristics across the nation as an alternative to a specific geographic concentration model.

Metropolitan Equities is led by Gustavo Boros, principal and managing director of investments for the new firm. Boros developed the platform to provide diligent and experienced representation to private equity sources seeking management for viable investment opportunities in commercial real estate. With a background in institutional real estate and finance, transaction execution and asset management, Boros oversees a team at MET/EQ leveraging legal, financial, property management and transaction experience gained from more than $3 bil in past transactions.

MET/EQ investment criteria include:

• Single Tenant/Net Lease: MET/EQ will focus significant attention on acquiring single tenant and net lease properties throughout the nation in the office, industrial and retail property sectors.

• Office: MET/EQ is seeking office buildings in a stabilized and/or value-add formats. The company will consider both multi-tenant and single tenant properties as well as portfolios of same. Focus on Major MSA and related suburban markets.

• Industrial: MET/EQ is seeking well positioned industrial/warehouse property in either single tenant or master-planned, multi-tenant, or portfolio configurations.

• Retail: MET/EQ is seeking single tenant/net lease, regional mall and suburban big-box anchored shopping center properties.

• Hotel/Resort: On a select basis, MET/EQ is seeking unique, stabilized or value-add hotel and resort properties in major MSA and resort destination markets.

• Multifamily: On a select basis, MET/EQ is seeking well positioned multifamily buildings, in stabilized or value-add formats, specifically in Southern California.
