A 200k sf, vacant corporate headquarters facility in Scottsdale, AZ sold for $39 mil ($195/sf). The two-story building, located in the city’s desired Central Scottsdale submarket, was formerly occupied by a Fortune 100 Insurance Company. The buyer, Dansons, will relocate its headquarters from central Phoenix to Scottsdale, where it will continue to expand its operations.
Dansons, a privately held company with over 400 employees, manufactures and sells BBQ smokers and grills, with such brand names as Pit Boss and Louisiana Grills, which are available across multiple leading retailers and direct-to-consumer sales and are sold in more than 30 countries worldwide. Dansons is also in the consumable products market and wood pellet manufacturing and sales side of the industry.
Located at 8877 N Gainey Center Dr, the property features include stunning, multiple two-story lobby entrances, mature landscaping, ample surface visitor parking, along with three levels of underground garage parking. The property provides convenient access to the Loop 101 Fwy and enjoys an abundance of upscale and popular amenities, retail services and entertainment venues in the Gainey Ranch area.
Commenting on the purchase, Dansons President Jeff Thiessen noted, “Not only will it provide us a state-of-the-art space for our team to continue to innovate and market best-in-class-products, but it also will serve as a perfect venue to host our valued retail and business partners, brand ambassadors and extended members of the Dansons family.”
Cushman & Wakefield’s Dave Carder and Scott Boardman in Phoenix represented Dansons in the transaction. Fred Darche and Spencer Nast with Lee & Associates repped the seller.
“This was a great opportunity for Dansons to invest in an attractive Class A headquarters facility in the prestigious Gainey Ranch area. The building has many outstanding features, including large open floor plates, below ground garage parking, on-site cafeteria and test-kitchen, all within an excellent corporate setting with views of the surrounding Gainey Ranch Golf Club,” said Carder.
