Caltrans Buys 111 Acres in Carmel Valley for Wetlands Project

8/02/18

The State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has purchased a 111.6-acre land parcel in Carmel Valley for $2.7 mil. The property is located south of Highway 56 at Rancho Santa Fe Farms Road in McGonigle Canyon. Caltrans plans a wetlands restoration project on the site.

David Santistevan, Erin McKinley, Gunder Creager and Ciara Trujillo of Colliers International’s San Diego Land Team represented Caltrans and the seller, the Barczewski Trust.

“This acquisition will set aside permanent open space, create wetlands and preserve the site for the Carmel Valley community,” said Santistevan.
