Bastyr University has signed a 10-year lease valued at $3 mil for office/lab space in Sorrento Valley. The University inked a deal for 19.3k sf at 4106 Sorrento Valley Blvd in the Sorrento Pines Business Park.

Brian Starck and Dave Odmark of Cassidy Turley BRE Commercial represented both the property owner, Sorrento Valley Blvd LP, and Bastyr in the transaction. Bastyr is the largest university for natural health arts and sciences in the U.S., combining a multidisciplinary curriculum with leading-edge research and clinical training.
In a downtown San Diego office lease from the end of 2011, Duane Morris LLP signed a five-year deal for 27.4k sf of space at Symphony Towers, a Class A building at 750 B St. The full-service, international law firm will be relocating from its current location at 101 W. Broadway.
Clayton Hovivian, executive vice president, and Jeffrey Chasan, senior vice president, of Grubb & Ellis, represented the law firm. The Irvine Company, landlord of both properties, represented itself in the transaction. The transaction was the result of a referral from Brett Diamond, senior vice president, Tenant Advisory Group, in Grubb & Ellis’ Washington D.C. office.
