An 11.9k sf retail center in San Diego’s Sorrento Mesa area recently traded for $7.1 mil, or roughly $600/sf. The property – Sorrento Plaza Retail Center – is located at 9254 Scranton Rd, south of Mira Mesa Blvd and east of the I-805. The buyer was the Guilford H. Whitney Trust, while the seller was Sorrento Parcels LLC.
Completed in September of 2007, the center is located in the Sorrento Plaza South office complex and includes tenants such as Croutons, Subway, Rubio’s Baja Grill and Skewers as well as additional food and service users. It is situated close to two six-story office towers and can serve nearly 140,000 daytime employees.
Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial brokers Jeff Abramson, Tim Winslow and Mark Randall represented the buyer in the transaction with CB Richard Ellis representing the seller. The transaction was facilitated by the Real Estate Trust Department of Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.
