Two major government agencies have inked leases totaling 164k sf of space at Norwalk Government Center, a 450k sf office complex in Norwalk. The project, sitting on 20 acres off the I-5 Fwy in South Los Angeles County, is owned by L.A.-based Sonnenblick Del Rio LLC, who purchased the property in 2005.
In the larger transaction, the L.A. County Sheriff Department signed a long-term lease for 106k sf. Much of the space will be used as the Sheriff’s back-up computer center for its entire county-wide operations.
In the other deal, The Department of Social Services (DPSS) took 58k sf of space. The agency helps train un-employed county residents through “back-to-work” programs.
Other government tenants in the complex include: The FBI, The Department of Homeland Security, The Small Business Administration (SBA), The Social Security Department, and the Department of Children & Family Services.
