Boston-based Rockpoint Group has undertaken a $6.6 mil renovation of Aventine, a Class A, 220k sf office property in San Diego. The building sits on an 11-acre campus at 8910 University Center Lane, south of La Jolla Village Dr on the east side of I-5.
Designed by Gensler, the renovation at Aventine will include a bright, new building lobby complete with an expresso bar and indoor/outdoor lounge seating areas; new exterior entry enhancement and drought tolerant landscaping; new fitness center with shower and locker facilities; updated corridors and restrooms; and upgrades to the parking garage including new lighting, paint, signage and improved ingress/egress. San Diego-based Cypress Office Properties is assisting in the execution of the renovation.
Leading the leasing efforts for Aventine are Tony Russell and Bess Wakeman of JLL. Aventine is able to accommodate a variety of requirements ranging from approximately 1.5k sf to 30k sf of contiguous space. Signage is also available. The top three floors of the building, offering 360 degree panoramic views, are available for lease.
Originally designed by renowned architect Michael Graves, Aventine is situated in the heart of San Diego’s Golden Triangle. The campus includes the 419-room Hyatt Regency La Jolla as well as numerous on-site dining amenities including Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Truluck’s, Café Japengo, The Melting Pot and Michael’s Lounge. Aventine is also conveniently located within walking distance of La Jolla Village Square, a regional retail center providing additional retail services as well as a variety of restaurants.
