Stoutenburgh House, a historic landmark property in Pasadena, was acquired by founder Daniel Fong of non-profit Uncommon Voices Collective in a $2.38 mil transaction. The property, originally built as a house, is currently being used as office space.
Built in 1893, Stoutenburgh House is located at 255 S. Marengo Ave. The house was designed by Los Angeles architect J. H. Bradbeer in the Queen Anne style. The house's design features a roof with many gables, multiple porches with turned columns and brackets carved by bandsaws, and patterned shingle siding. An original carriage house and barn are also located on the property.
John and Mary Stoutenburgh, a prominent local couple, lived in the house; John died in 1904, but Mary occupied the house into the 1920s. Stoutenburgh House was inducted to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
Stoutenburgh House has a Walk Score of 95, making it a very walkable location to Old Pasadena, restaurants, entertainment, retail shops, and Historic Route 66. Uncommon Voices Collective will occupy Stoutenburgh House for their non-profit organization.
Marie Taylor with NAI Capital Commercial’s Investment Services Group represented the buyer in the deal. Uncommon Voices Collective is organized and operated to promote understanding of current events, cultural issues, and religious topics through highlighting positive stories, perspectives, and experiences that are overlooked or ignored by traditional media.
