Community Corporation of Santa Monica has broken ground on Las Flores Santa Monica, a 73-unit, 94k sf affordable housing community in Santa Monica. The project, located at 1834 14th St, was designed by DE Architects and is being built by R.D. Olson Construction.
Las Flores Santa Monica will offer 35 one-bedroom, 19 two-bedroom and 19 three-bedroom floorplans over a below grade parking garage. Community amenities will include exterior decks and lounge areas, a playground, community laundry, community rooms, exterior walkways and landscaping. The exterior façade features stucco with architectural metal panels. Las Flores Santa Monica is designed with sustainability in mind, with a minimum goal of LEED Platinum.
“Low-cost housing, particularly in high-cost areas such as Santa Monica, is in extremely short supply in Southern California,” said Bill Wilhelm, president of R.D. Olson Construction. “Las Flores Santa Monica provides modern living space that seamlessly fits into the aesthetic of the community while providing much-needed affordable housing for Los Angeles families.”
Las Flores Santa Monica is within walking distance of Santa Monica’s extensive retail, dining and entertainment offerings as well as Santa Monica College and Memorial Park.
