Blumhouse Productions has acquired a 5.5k sf office building in Los Angeles for $2.67 mil, or $485/sf, in an all-cash deal. The two-story building, located at 2410 Beverly Blvd, between Rampart Blvd and Alvarado St, just west of downtown, was sold by the law firm of Kessel & Associates, which had occupied the renovated building for 11 years.
Blumhouse Productions currently owns and occupies two other office buildings across the street and plans on expanding some operations into the newly acquired office building as its business continues to grow. The firm is the producer of a number of horror film franchises like The Purge, Paranormal Activity and Insidious.
Nathan Pellow and Patrick Moody with Colliers International represented the seller in the transaction. According to Pellow, Rideback Productions (formerly known as Lin Pictures), also a production studio, responsible for The Lego Movie franchise, purchased properties last year on the same street for its offices.
