JH Snyder Company and its partner, OGO Associates, have started construction on the Residences at Wilshire Curson, a 20-story state-of-the-art apartment building that will join the SAG-AFTRA Plaza site in the heart of the Miracle Mile. The project sits adjacent to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the George Page Museum and their acres of parks and gardens.
The Residences at Wilshire Curson will offer 285 apartments with extensive tenant amenities and gathering places including a rooftop resort with pool, Jacuzzi, sun lounge, bar and seating areas. The first floor will house a reception lobby, conference and business center facilities, full-size fitness center, entertaining kitchen and indoor/outdoor lounge areas.
The building will sit atop a subterranean two-story parking structure and will stand above its lower-rise neighbors, providing residents with panoramic citywide views in every direction. The project is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2020.
“Miracle Mile is among the most desirable locations in LA,” said Jerry Snyder, founder and senior partner, JH Snyder Co. “It is midway between the growing jobs centers in downtown and the Westside. And with the opening of the Purple Line in 2023, our residents will have great transit access. Further it’s an easy walk to some of our most iconic attractions including LACMA, the new Academy Motion Picture Museum, The Grove and Farmers Market.”
The Residences at Wilshire Curson will replace an existing surface parking lot at SAG-AFTRA Plaza. As part of the site redesign, a courtyard portico will welcome guests to SAG-AFTRA Plaza. Common areas at the site will be enhanced with inviting spaces that will include extensive landscaping, water features and al fresco seating.
The new residential building is an elegant contemporary design by MWE+Partners that combines modern architectural elements with rich materials to create a stunning landmark at this highly visible location. Landscaping by Lifescapes International will turn the site into a garden style setting.
The Residences at Wilshire Curson will overlook the Los Angeles County Museum of Art with its 20 acres of beautifully landscaped park, the new Academy Motion Picture Museum with its distinctive globe theatre and the George C. Page Museum and LaBrea Tar Pits with 23 acres of park. The apartments will be a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom residences, most with balconies to enjoy the Southern California climate and all with incredible views.
