The 40k sf, former PCA Aerospace manufacturing facility in the city of Compton was purchased by Distribution Ventures LLC for $5.7 mil, or $146/sf. The property is located at 2301 South Wilmington Dr, west of the 710 Fwy and just south of the 91 Fwy.
The industrial/manufacturing facility had been occupied by PCA Aerospace and its predecessor companies for more than 40 years. PCA filed bankruptcy at the end of 2016. As a result, the ownership, Barry Saywitz Properties, was forced to renovate and rehab the facility and, upon completion of the renovations, the property was put on the market.
The facility, which was used to manufacture complex wing structures and supports for the aerospace industry including Boeing and Spirit Airlines, housed more than $15 mil worth of manufacturing equipment. The new owner, Distribution Ventures, intends to use the property for research, development and manufacturing.
Barry Saywitz of The Saywitz Company represented both parties in the transaction. We’re told the listing generated multiple bids.
