Astani Enterprises has completed work on Wilshire Valencia, a six-story, 218-unit residential development in LA’s Central City West neighborhood. The project, designed by Santa Monica-based KFA, is located at 1515 Wilshire Blvd, at the corner of Wilshire Blvd and Valencia St.
Wilshire Valencia offers a mix of studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, including a few affordable units. In addition, the project includes 4k sf of retail space suitable for restaurants and shopping along Wilshire. Common area amenities include 20k sf of recreation space with two landscaped courtyards, outdoor lounge spaces, and a pool and spa.
The project also features a fitness center and pool-side lounge, outdoor basketball court, lush landscaping and an exterior game lounge. The apartments have nine-foot-tall ceilings, built-in cabinetry, generous windows, private balconies and individual washers and dryers in the units. Parking is provided in an underground garage, as well as a secured bike storage room.
The building’s architecture is carefully emphasized with the use of contrasting materials, including natural stone tile and smooth plaster finishes with wood, aluminum and glass accents. The project’s façade is distinguished by a contrasting pattern of extruded rectilinear elements that extend along the length of the elevations. The building’s massing is recessed at various points along the public way for balconies and circulation space, which provides for a playful articulation of the façade.
Wilshire Valencia boasts prominent views of the Hollywood Hills, the Mid-Wilshire district and Downtown Los Angeles to the east. Residents have only a short walk over a freeway bridge to access the many restaurants, cafés and lively lobby bars along Seventh Street in the Financial District.
