Signature Behavioral Healthcare, a provider of behavioral health care services, acquired seven acres at the March LifeCare Medical City in Riverside County, marking the first investment in the future 6 msf health and wellness campus. The land was sold by March Healthcare in a deal valued at $4.6 mil.
“This deal is a key first step in realizing March LifeCare’s future as a cutting-edge, specially-designed campus that provides the entire continuum of high-quality health care for patients of all ages seeking an integrated medicinal approach,” said NGKF Global Healthcare Services Executive Managing Director Garth Hogan, who represented the seller, along with Executive Managing Director Jeff Read and Managing Director John Scruggs, in NGKF’s Newport Beach office.
“We are currently in talks with other healthcare providers for opportunities at March LifeCare and believe it’s only a short time before another user joins Signature Behavioral Healthcare in this regionally important endeavor,” Hogan said.
An estimated $3.3 bil project centrally located in Riverside County, March LifeCare is being developed on 236 surplus acres of the former March Air Force Base, which was converted to reserve status in 1996. It will include a hospital, medical office buildings, retail, skilled nursing facilities, wellness centers, spiritual healing facilities and ambulatory care facilities that will serve as a regional healthcare hub for residents from the Inland Empire to Los Angeles County.
Signature Behavioral Healthcare plans to develop an acute care facility on the unimproved site. Cameron Jones and John Quinton of Ashwill Associates represented the buyer in the transaction.
