Stirling Capital Investment to Begin Construction of 450k sf Industrial Facility in Victorville

12/10/14

The City of Victorville has approved entitlements for Stirling Capital Investment to begin development of a new, 450k sf industrial building on 22 acres at the Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA). The new industrial building will be geared to warehousing, distribution, assembly and manufacturing uses.

Earlier this year, the City of Victorville reported that SCLA was nearing full occupancy of its developed industrial space, signaling the completion of the first phase of the City’s industrial development plan. Since its first major industrial transaction in February 2001 with the High Desert Power Project, several large ground lease contracts and build-to-suit projects have been secured at SCLA. Projects over the past 15 years have included General Electric in 2002, Newell Rubbermaid in 2007, Leading Edge Aviation Services, Pratt Whitney, FedEx and Victorville Aerospace in 2007, and Plastipak Packaging in 2009.

Additionally, in 2010 Dr. Pepper Snapple Group completed its manufacturing and warehouse facility at SCLA, which now serves the company’s entire West Coast beverage-consuming demand. M&M/Mars also relocated its refrigerated candy warehouse operation to SCLA in 2011. In 2012, further development was secured with United Furniture Industries, followed by a ground lease with The Boeing Company in 2013.

The City of Victorville is home to the Southern California Logistics Airport and is located approximately 90 miles northeast of Los Angeles with convenient access to major interstates, railways, trucking routes and international airports, making it one of Southern California’s most significant logistics hubs. The city has a growing residential population of over 114,000.
