SAN DIEGO: Matt Kelly -- Voit Commercial Brokerage has named Matt Kelly Vice President of the company’s San Diego office. Kelly, who specializes in sales and leasing throughout the central San Diego market and I-15 corridor, has successfully leased and sold more than 2.6 msf of property and over 110 acres of land throughout his career. NEWPORT BEACH: Ian Brown -- Commercial real estate veteran Ian Brown has rejoined Grubb & Ellis’ Newport Beach office as a Senior Vice President with the Retail Group. Brown returns to Grubb & Ellis following a two-year stint as Executive Vice President and Partner with DBN Development LLC, a commercial developer of retail, mixed-use, residential and office space in Southern California. At DBN he was responsible for property acquisition initiatives, as well as overseeing the marketing and leasing of its portfolio of projects. Previously he had been with Grubb & Ellis since 1985 and ranked as one of the company’s top retail brokers nationally. EL SEGUNDO: Rick Richter -- Rick Richter has joined the environmental and engineering due diligence consulting firm Partner Engineering and Science Inc as a Principal in charge of the company’s Building Science Division. Richter, a former Principal of National Assessment Corporation, has spent the past 22 years in the real estate due diligence field, as a building scientist, senior project manager and senior author.
During his career, Richter has been personally involved in more than 9,000 real estate transactions providing lenders, developers and property owners with a wide variety of professional services including: physical assessments of properties; surveys for workmanship and code compliance; estimating; oversight management; limited environmental site assessments; engineering reviews of costs; inspections and procedures; cost-to-complete analysis for troubled projects; construction project management; and cost database development and maintenance.

LOS ANGELES: Douglas Haney -- Douglas Haney, MAI, has joined IDS Real Estate Group as Director. Haney has been a leading appraiser of commercial property nationally for over three decades and is former president of CB Richard Ellis’ Valuation & Advisory Services Division.
Haney comes to IDS after serving as president of Los Angeles-based CB Richard Ellis Valuation & Advisory Services from 1991 until he retired in December, 2007. He joined CB Richard Ellis (previously Coldwell Banker and CB Commercial) as a staff appraiser in 1973. He held the positions of Regional Office Manager of the Los Angeles appraisal office, Regional Manager of Consultation Services, and National Marketing Director of Appraisal Services before being named to head the entire appraisal services division.

SAN DIEGO: Mark D. Ashton/Rick I. Wu -- Voit Commercial is expanding its retail team in San Diego with the addition of top senior industry executives Mark D. Ashton, SCSM, and Rick I. Wu. Both senior executives will serve in the position of Vice President.
A seasoned professional, Mark D. Ashton possesses more than 25 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Voit, Ashton served as the Director of Property Management for the San Diego division of NewMark Merrill Companies, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations and marketing of the company's San Diego portfolio. Rowland and Roberts, who have worked together for the past five years and combined have over 30 years experience, are well-known for their expertise in the sale of leased office and industrial investment projects in both San Diego County and throughout the Southwestern United States. Rowland brings more than 25 years of commercial real estate sales experience as he rejoins Cushman & Wakefield, where he spent eight years of his professional career at Burnham Real Estate (1992 to 2000). WEST LOS ANGELES: Craig Hamilton -- Craig Hamilton has joined the Los Angeles office of George Smith Partners, where he’ll bring more than 20 years of industry leadership experience, with an emphasis on distressed real estate. In his career, he has negotiated and closed more than $1 bil of debt and equity financing.
As Senior Vice President, Hamilton will specialize in the management of homebuilding companies, as well as the financing, acquisition, development and construction of residential real estate projects. At GSP, Hamilton will be leading a group of highly experienced executives in two main areas of activity. Montgomery has been the leader of all Opus’ efforts relating to four significant projects in the City of Irvine, including Avenue One, The Plaza-Irvine and 3000 The Plaza luxury condominium projects, and the Opus Center Irvine III Class A office tower.
Ryan Dan joined Opus in 2006 and has been promoted from Real Estate Representative to Real Estate Manager. Since joining Opus, Dan has been instrumental in helping guide the leasing and marketing of the Shoppes at Chino Hills, a retail development project that will open in May 2008 at more than 90 percent leased.
Mike Dorris has been at Opus since 2005 and previously served as Real Estate Manager. In his new role as Senior Manager Real Estate Development, he will spearhead all marketing activities for both phases of the Opus Point office campus in San Diego and will work to source new development opportunities to further grow Opus’ market presence. Dorris has helped facilitate the San Diego sales activity at Opus Point and the eight-building Opus Crossing industrial park, as well as assisted with the acquisition, entitlements and marketing of Horizon Tech Center @Scripps Ranch, a Class A office project seeking LEED certification.
Andrew Ranallo has been promoted from Associate Project Manager to Project Manager. He joined Opus in 2005 and has been instrumental to the success of Opus West’s mixed-use Pine Corporate Center in Chino Hills and the Northpointe office development in San Bernardino. With an architecture background and LEED accreditation earned in 2004, Ranallo has taken a leadership role in the LEED training of Opus West’s Southern California staff and continues to provide | | | | |
