A locally based real estate investment firm, Trojan Fig Partners LLC, purchased 901 Bar & Grill – a well-known hangout near University of Southern California. The acquisition included adjacent properties totaling approximately one acre of land on South Figueroa St in Downtown Los Angeles.
The two buildings include three tenants: 901 Bar & Grill at 2902 South Figueroa St, Carl’s Jr at 2912 South Figueroa St, and El Pollo Loco at 2904 South Figueroa St. The properties are between Adams and Jefferson Blvds, on the west side of the 110 Fwy. The price was not disclosed.
CBRE Senior Vice President Chris Caras, Senior Vice President Phillip Sample, and Senior Vice President Michael Shustak represented the seller, Figueroa Retail LLC, a local family who owned the property since 1971.
“The 901 Bar & Grill is well-known among USC students and alumni. Students will be relieved to hear that it will remain open, but future redevelopment could be a possibility,” says Caras, lead broker in the transaction.
Nicknamed the “Nine O”, the 901 Bar & Grill was established in 1947. According to the homepage, the bar is a well-established hangout before or after any athletic event and is within walking distance of the Galen Center and Coliseum. The bar also carries nine 50-inch Plasma TVs and a supportive atmosphere for Trojan spirit while viewing NFL, MLB, NBA, or collegiate sporting events.
