ANAHEIM (Orange County) -- Planet Fitness, a franchise-driven health club, inked a lease for 20.4k sf of space at Euclid Shopping Center, located at 1620 W. Katella Ave, at the southeast corner of Euclid St and Katella Ave in Anaheim. The 10-year lease, which is valued at approximately $2 mil ($0.82/sf/mo), brings the 206.1k sf community center to 100 percent occupied. Planet Fitness, which is expected to open in June 2010, will join anchors Food 4 Less, Big Lots and CVS/pharmacy. Matt Hammond of Coreland Companies represented the landlord, Euclid Shopping Center LLC, a private family trust located in San Diego. Garrett Colburn and Steve McClurkin of Grubb & Ellis repped the tenant.

VALENCIA (Los Angeles County) – Marston’s Restaurant agreed to a 10-year, $1.4 mil lease for 3k sf ($3.89/sf/mo) of retail space at Bridgeport Marketplace, located at 24009-11 Newhall Ranch Rd. John Cserkuti of NAI Capital represented the landlord, Bridgeport Marketplace LLC. The tenant was repped by Robert Fitzgerald, also with NAI Capital.

CARLSBAD (San Diego County) -- Kahoots Feed & Pet Store leased 7k sf of retail space for 10 years at 2616 El Camino Real from Hughes Investments for $1.4 mil ($1.67/sfmo). Phil Lyons, Bruce Schiff and Chad Iafrate of Cassidy Turley BRE Commercial represented the property owner in the transaction. Dave Hagglund of CB Richard Ellis repped the tenant.

SAN JOSE (Santa Clara County) -- buybuyBABY inked a deal for its first NoCal location, as the Bed Bath & Beyond-owned retail chain signed a long-term lease for 37.8k sf at the Almaden Plaza in the Blossom Valley area of south San Jose. The space was formerly home to Circuit City. buybuyBABY specializes in infant's and children’s needs, including clothes, furniture, car seats, feeding equipment, bath items, and toys. The property is owned by Almaden Plaza Shopping Center. Don Krieger and Drew Greenspan with Terranomics Retail Services represented the tenant in the transaction.

DALY CITY (San Mateo County) – Furniture Mart agreed to a lease for 25k sf of space at Serramonte Plaza. Furniture has planned an April occupancy of the space, formerly leased to Circuit City. Todd Oliver and Mike Costa with Terranomics Retail Services brokered the deal on behalf of the tenant and the landlord, SPI Holdings LLC.
