NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (July 07, 2008) – On May 15, executives and employees from LNR Property Corporation’s Commercial Property Group volunteered a day to paint walls and clean toys for the Blind Children’s Learning Center (BCLC) in Santa Ana.
During the day visit to BCLC, employees painted the interior and exteriors of buildings and helped clean equipment and toys in the occupational therapy rooms. These efforts were done to enhance the learning environment for the children enrolled at the center.
LNR Commercial Property Group was also a presenting sponsor at BCLC’s Fourth Annual Destination…Independence 5K Walk, which took place Saturday, June 7. The event started at 7:30 a.m. with performances by BCLC children along with food, music and games.
“LNR’s Commercial Property Group is committed to giving back to the communities where it develops,” said Melinda Hall-Wood, vice president of LNR’s Commercial Property Group. “Our associates are committed to donate time to further support The Blind Children’s Learning Center.”
In addition to BCLC, LNR’s Commercial Property Group works with numerous non-profit organizations including, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts of America, CASA, Families First, HOAG Hospital Foundation, HomeAid, Leukemia Society, Salvation Army, Susan G. Komen Foundation, United Way and YMCA.
LNR’s Commercial Property Group also hosts and participates in fundraisers throughout the year, including its signature “WOW Event,” which has supported families of Camp Pendleton who have family members serving abroad.
