Legacy Partners Nabs Development Property in Redmond, WA

11/17/16

Legacy Partners has purchased a 3.8-acre site in downtown Redmond, WA that they plan to redevelop. Legacy is partnering with a Beijing-based public company (traded on the Hong Kong stock exchange) known for their specialization in green building techniques.

The property, known as Redmond Square is located at 16425 Cleveland St and could eventually contain up to 600 res units, although we’re told that, at this time, it is more likely to comprise a mix of real estate uses.

The land is within a few blocks of the planned light rail station and the Redmond Town Center Mall, which offers 110 restaurants and shops as well as a public market, movie theaters and a library. Additionally, Redmond Square is surrounded by green space, adjacent to a new park that extends the length of downtown Redmond, with public art, bicycle and pedestrian paths that border the south side of the property.

This new acquisition by Legacy Partners is the most recent in a series of development projects in Redmond, WA, further affirming their commitment to the city. This September, Legacy Partners broke ground on their “Triangle” project, a six-story building that will include 195 units and 9.5k sf of commercial space. Legacy Partners also recently announced the sale of the “Milehouse”, a six-floor apartment complex that was recognized by Multi-Family Executive Magazine at their recent convention as the “Merit Winner for Project of the Year in the Mid-Rise Apartments” category. In 2009 Legacy was master developer of the six-acre Riverpark site, which encompassed apartments, hotel and office.
