The Seattle Design Center, a one-of-a-kind design center and office campus totaling 406.5k sf of space, was purchased by California-based investment group Greenbridge Investment for $25 mil ($61/sf). The property is located in Seattle’s vibrant Georgetown / SoDo submarket, just four miles south of the Seattle CBD.
Situated on over five acres spanning nearly two city blocks, Seattle Design Center consists of two buildings (the Atrium and the Plaza buildings) connected via a skybridge. Both buildings feature high-ceiling rentable space surrounding a central atrium.
The two-story Atrium building boasts spectacular roofline window bays allowing for plenty of natural light, a formal staircase, and 8.7k sf of central floor space. The five-story Plaza building includes a built-in semicircular stage, reflection pools, skylights and a penthouse with sweeping views of Downtown Seattle and surrounding areas.
Bob Safai and Brad Schlaak of Madison Partners represented the seller, Hines, in the widely-marketed offering of the property, which garnered strong interest from local and national buyers. Los Angeles-based law firm Sklar Kirsh acted as counsel to the buyer.
