Dallas, TX-based Woodbine Development Corporation, in a venture with Portland-based Provenance Hotels, has acquired the historic Governor Hotel in Portland, OR. Built in 1923, the 100-room, Four-Diamond hotel is located at 614 Southwest 11th Ave, in the heart of the Portland Central Business District. The price was not disclosed.
The Governor is a full-service, boutique lodging facility consisting of two internally connected historic buildings, the Princeton and the Governor buildings, which were last renovated in 2005. The hotel also features approximately 22.2k sf of meeting space, including a 6.5k sf ballroom and Jakes Restaurant.
The Governor Hotel is considered one of the true historic landmarks of the Pacific Northwest. Newly remodeled, the hotel is in excellent condition and is part of the Historic Hotels of America, a national trust for historic preservation.
Matthew Behrens of CBRE represented the unnamed seller in the transaction. The hotel will be operated by Provenance.
