The Alliance Group Commercial Construction has completed construction of Gordon Trucking’s new operating center in the NoCal city of Lathrop, located about 12 miles directly south of Stockton. The new center is expected to open in late May of this year.
Gordon Trucking is a leading truckload carrier that is expanding its network of operating centers to provide equipment servicing, dispatch and refueling to its fleet in more locations. The new center will service trucks traveling west coast through the new Lathrop facility area.
The initial project consisted of building a 23k sf concrete tilt-up building on a fully concrete paved site. Construction began in May 2011 and was completed on schedule this month.
The Alliance Group specializes in value engineering, a systematic process of analyzing project methods, materials and design to achieve the best relationship between value and cost. Using this process, Alliance, in collaboration with Kier & Wright civil engineers, was able to modify the center’s grading and underground infrastructure resulting in the savings of tens of thousands of dollars for Gordon Trucking. The cost savings enabled Gordon to construct a 4k sf building that had been planned for a future phase.
