Construction of Alma Station, a 25k sf, Class A office project in Menlo Park, has been completed. The office space will be fully occupied by The Schmidt Family Foundation and Schmidt Ocean Institute, led by Eric and Wendy Schmidt.
Located at 1010 Alma St, adjacent to the Menlo Park Caltrain station, the three-story building features two levels of underground parking and a ground-level retail space that will be occupied by San Francisco-based Saint Frank Coffee. Sares Regis Group of Northern California has served as Development Manager for Alma Station, assisting in the design and construction of the LEED Platinum-targeted project.
According to Wendy Schmidt, President of The Schmidt Family Foundation and co-founder, Schmidt Ocean Institute, targeting near-zero energy and responsible water use were important goals for the development. Designed by BAR Architects, the highly sustainable building meets Net Zero Energy targets and features a sustainable and complex HVAC system.
Alma Station offers two electric vehicle charging stations and street side bicycle racks for public use. The project has updated all streetscapes on the front and back of the building to include seating for the café, new sidewalks with planted areas, bioswales, trees, and guest parking.
The general contractor for the project was Vance Brown Builders, with BraytonHughes Design Studios providing sophisticated interior design
