Kairos Power LLC, an Oakland-based energy technology and engineering company, signed a new lease for 55.8k sf of space in Alameda. The deal is at West Tower 9, located at 707 West Tower Ave, west of the Webster Street Tube.
West Tower 9 is a 1940s hanger/manufacturing building undergoing full refurbishment on the former Naval Air Station at Alameda Point. The building is part the revitalization of Alameda Point that is immediately adjacent to a 68-acre, $500 mil dollar mixed-use development project approved by the City of Alameda in 2015.
The project will be developed in three phases and will include: 800 multi-family residential units; neighborhood retail and restaurants; manufacturing space; a 150-room, full service hotel; a 15-acre public park and waterfront plaza; and a new ferry terminal less than five minutes from West Tower 9 that will begin service in 2019/20.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Marc Ward and Elisa Konik represented the tenant. Ted Anderson, John McManus and Andrew Schmieder, also with C&W, repped the Oakland-based landlord, srmErnst Development Partners, in the transaction. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
