Tech Firm Inks Lease for 40k sf Office Space in Downtown San Jose

Cohesity, the pioneer of hyperconverged secondary storage, has signed a lease for 40k sf of office space on floors seven and eight at Riverpark Tower II in San Jose. The property is located at 300 Park Ave, in the heart of the cityís downtown area.

The technology company is nearly tripling its square footage and is relocating from Santa Clara, where it occupied 14k sf at 471 El Camino Real. Cohesity is expected to occupy its new space in the fourth quarter of this year, after a custom build-out that features a modern, open aesthetic and provides numerous collaborative areas while also achieving a rich population of meeting rooms throughout the two floors.

Joe Brady and Mike Mordaunt with Savills Studley represented the tenant in the transaction, which also included negotiating short-term expansion space in Santa Clara to accommodate the firmís ongoing growth and bridge the time gap between its current and future locations. Terms were not given out.

The 16-story, 302.6k sf Riverpark Tower II is situated alongside the Guadalupe River. Designed by HKS Architects, the building joins its twin tower, located at 333 W. San Carlos St, to create a distinctive office building complex. The block-long campus features a central courtyard with lush landscaping, seating and fountains, providing a park-like feel with a strategic and convenient central business district location.

Other amenities include a fitness center with showers and lockers, bike-share program, storage and utility shop, ample structured parking with electric vehicle charging stations, and an onsite deli and wine room.

The property owner, Steelwave, was represented in the transaction by Anne Ralston and Phil Mahoney of Newmark Cornish & Carey.
