TMG Partners has acquired an eight-story 198k sf office building in Oakland. The property is located at 2201 Broadway, about three blocks west of Lake Merritt at Grand Ave. Although a price was not disclosed by the parties involved, we’ve heard that the deal came in near $77 mil, which works out to around $389/sf.
Located in the heart of Uptown, 2201 Broadway is considered to be one of Oakland’s finest examples of art deco architecture. With numerous restaurants, art galleries, and shops in the Uptown district, over one billion dollars of new and proposed residential development is also occurring.
TMG was represented by Michael Taquino, Dan Cressman and Kyle Kovac of Newmark Cornish & Carey. The seller was not disclosed. TMG previously purchased the 300k sf office building at 1330 Broadway, also in Oakland. That deal closed in November of 2015.
