Construction has topped out on One Henry Adams, a six-story, 280k sf apartment community that will bring 241 residential units to San Francisco’s Showplace Square neighborhood. The $164.4 mil project, a development of Equity Residential, also includes 8.6k sf of neighborhood retail space.
Designed by BAR Architects and being built by Suffolk Construction, completion of One Henry Adams is slated for late 2016. The project spans a full city block in the center of an active mixed-use neighborhood.
One Henry Adams has been designed to respect the area’s light industrial history while providing a modern living community. To complement the scale of surrounding buildings, the massing of the project provides for two, six-story buildings with clean lines that frame classic proportions.
The exteriors introduce industrial materials of zinc and stainless steel mixed with brick and timber, and expanses of glass curtain walls. The buildings are separated by a 65’-wide, public park-like paseo that will connect Henry Adams St. to Rhode Island St., enhancing the pedestrian experience and providing street level retail with ample space for outdoor dining.
One Henry Adams also provides residents with a full menu of modern amenities: a rooftop terrace with kitchen, lounge chairs and spectacular views of downtown; a large fitness center with high ceilings and the latest equipment; multiple lounges with WiFi, HDTV’s, farm tables, and comfortable seating; a club room with demonstration kitchen; two private outdoor courtyards with fireplace and grilling areas; 1:1 bicycle parking with tool racks and a repair station; and a dog spa.
