Opower has subleased a 34.5k sf full floor space from Riverbed Technology at Riverbed’s headquarters in San Francisco. Riverbed’s master lease consists of the lower half of the 14-story, Class A building located at 680 Folsom St, at 3rd St in the city’s SOMA District.
Opower, a publicly held software-as-a-service company, agreed to an initial sublease term to span a few years of Riverbed’s master lease and provide Riverbed with the opportunity for future growth. Riverbed, which also has a large presence in Sunnyvale, has over $1 bil in annual revenue and its 25,000+ customers include 97% of both the Fortune 100 and the Forbes Global 100.
The building was developed in 2014 and is owned by Boston Properties. DTZ represented Riverbed in the deal.
